In Character Information
Name: Danny Fenton--Danny Phantom, Inviso-bill
Series: Danny Phantom
Canon Standing: End of episode 29, The Ultimate Enemy
Age: 14
Birthday & Astrology Sign: November 26th, Sagittarius
Personality:
Yo Danny Fenton he was just 14.
And then he died.
I'm only half kidding.
Danny essentially has two personas and facets to himself. One is the awkward, unpopular, shy teen who he generally remains as whilst around other members of society. He’s not particularly good with school or grades, though he does exhibit intelligence outside of educational groupings.
There isn’t much notable about Danny Fenton; he’s considerably lazy, awkward, and eager to skive off of any responsibilities he may have. Now and again he exhibits periods of rebellion against authority figures and peers, including his parents, teachers, school bullies and friends. These points of irrationality usually lead to more trouble than good.
Also he hates Christmas.
On the opposite spectrum, you have Danny Phantom, and the personality he adopts when in his Halfa form. Phantom comes across as more typically heroic; he fights for others whole heartedly and assumes the spotlight that essentially makes him a target for ghosts and humans alike. He has great conviction in what he believes is right, which is part of the reason why he continues to pursue the life he does, despite all its downfalls.
As a rounded character, Danny has a lot of personality flaws that slowly become less consistent as his story continues. His longing for popularity dies out fairly quickly after assuming the super hero role; after several episodes, he prefers to stay out of the limelight rather than within it. His ability to handle situations as well as his dedication to his newfound lifestyle also grows as he continues training and encountering new situations. As both personas, Danny has a very dry and intelligent sarcasm about him which speaks of a maturity that he will eventually come into.
Danny is well rounded when it comes to caring about those around him; every one around him. Whilst this doesn’t mean he won’t hold a grudge, typically when it comes to humans, Danny will never allow them to come to harm, despite whether they deserve it or not. His family and friends are his life; they influence him heavily, and he does his best to keep them safe.
Another large influence in Danny’s life is Vlad Masters, an elder Halfa who is basically the most consistent villain throughout the series. Danny’s problems usually consist of plans initiated by Vlad, and despite the negative views of this, there is still a heavy influence as his most prominent enemy and the only other known human afflicted with the same ghostly attributes as himself, which a much wider spectrum of experience.
Backstory:
Daniel "Danny" Fenton is a rather abnormal child at the start of his journey, with psychology aspiring elder sister Jasmine "Jazz" and parents Madeline "Maddie" and Jack, who spend their time creating scientific equipment for Ghost hunting. They constantly experiment and create various gadgets, one of which, the Ghost Portal, is a gateway large enough to fit a minivan through its doors and into the Ghost Zone, the realm of the undead.
They keep it in the family basement.
When Jack and Maddie create the Portal, it falters upon starting and refuses to work. Danny’s friends, Samantha "Sam" Manson and Tucker Foley, convince Danny to take a closer look inside the portal to see if he can fix it. Turns out the only thing that’s wrong with it is that the ‘on’ button is on the inside of the Portal. And of course, Danny has the luck of pressing it.
He’s shot with an excessively huge dose of electricity and Ectoplasm, the basis of what ghosts and their realm are made of, and this creates a change in his DNA leading to his ‘Halfa’ status; half human, half ghost. Danny can switch between his human half, with black hair and blue eyes, and his ghost half, with white hair and green eyes. This change also allows him numerous abilities, some of which don’t appear until later in the series.
The first season is based after these events, when Danny is first learning to control his ghost powers. He constantly uses them for vain and shallow reasons such as popularity points, but in the end gains a reputation amongst ghosts as a human protector, giving Danny the infamous status of ‘Halfa’ rather than ghost. During this time, Danny’s powers are intensely unstable; whist he can control them in the sense of fighting, he can’t control his ability to turn invisible or intangible, which is mostly triggered by his emotions. During the first several episodes, he also has trouble keeping his ghost form at all; changing mid-flight or exhausting himself quickly through its constant usage.
In episode 14, Danny is taken to Wisconsin with his family to a college reunion being held at the castle of 40 year old billionaire, Vlad Masters. Danny immediately finds Vlad odd due to how he treats Danny’s family, and later finds out that Vlad is also a Halfa like himself. This was caused by an accident in college, which his father and mother were also part of, and embittered Vlad blames Jack for both his loss of youth and his chance at Maddie. When Vlad discovers Danny’s ghost half, he immediately changes his plans, including Danny in the greater scheme of things so that he can have the only other Halfa apprenticed by his side.
Of course, Danny defeats him, and life becomes a cycle of fairly mundane villains till a mass invasion of ghosts occurs upon his home town of Amity Park. Danny of course saves the day, but earns the title of “Public Enemy Number 1” due to the fact that he is seen threatening a ghost possessing the body of the town’s mayor.
From this point on, Danny’s life is pretty simple. See the bad guy, be put down by the bad guy, do bad things, feel bad, beat the bad guy, learn a moral. A run down of each episode and their respective villains is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Danny_Phantom_episodes for Season One and Season Two.
Its at the point of episode 28 and 29 that Danny will be taken from. The two part special called TUE: The Ultimate Enemy, occurs midway through season Two, and deals with Danny’s stress whilst trying to pass the CAT tests. He is constantly attacked by ghosts reminiscent or even related to ghosts he has fought before, until it is brought to his attention that because he will inevitably cheat on the CAT exams, everyone he loves will die, and due to this trauma Danny will ultimately become an unstoppable villain.
After a run-in with a ghost who can manipulate time titled Clockwork, Danny finds himself stuck ten years in the future and inevitably ends up coming face to face with his future self. The Medallion that gave him the capability to go through time is pushed into the core of his body, where it is impossible for him to get out, and his evil self then goes back in time to make sure that his family and friends die as they are supposed to.
Danny, after escaping more peril from various ghosts whose after-lives his future self has essentially ruined, ends up seeking out his arch-enemy, Vlad, only to find that Masters is an old man whose ghost half was ripped out of him.
Vlad explains that the evil self that Danny sees is actually the manifestation of both Vlad’s ghost half and Danny’s ghost half merged together. After the deaths of his family and friends Danny merely longs to lose his emotions, and Vlad tries to abide by his wish. Using one of the gadgets Jack and Madeline had created, claws that can rip the ectoplasm out of any flesh being, Vlad separates Danny’s ghost and human half. Danny’s ghost half then proceeds to merge with the ghost inside Vlad and virtually become insane, destroying what is left of his human side and proceeding upon the rampage that creates the apocalyptic future.
This is all explained to Danny before he requests that Vlad use the claws to rid his body of the Medallion and send him back to his own time, so he can save his family and friends from their predetermined death. Once sent back, he fights with his older self, effectively defeating him all too late, watching in devastated shock as his family is wiped out.
Only, of course, for Clockwork to save the day. He is assured that due to his efforts, the timeline has indeed changed. His family is saved, and all he needs to do now is fix the one mistake left in his past. Cheating on the exams. This is the point at which I’ll be taking him from.
Canon Powers:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Phantom_%28character%29#Ghost_Powers Wikupedia has this to say! But to list these for you guys in a more rounded manner:
Danny is, by the canonpoint I'm pulling him from, only just beginning to develop his more radical moves, including his signature Ghostly Wail. Outside of his ghost skills, however, he has developed a good amount of speed and endurance, as well as boasting a good amount of skill in hand-to-hand combat. Danny has been known to take some rather serious damage before, enough to knock him out not from slamming his head, but because the agony is that overwhelming. Tough little nut still gets back up again and fights like, five minutes later though.
His ghosts skills are a different matter, and comprise of the following:
Goin' Ghost || (Mind) not only the stupidest catchphrase ever, Danny consciously switches from human to ghost form, and back again.
Ghost Sense || (Mind) Danny can 'see dead people'. When a ghost is near, his breath turns blue, which is a precursor to a later skill that allows him to manipulate ice.
Intangibility || (Mind) Danny's body temporarily becomes incorporeal, negating any physical attacks and allowing him to pass through objects.
Invisibility || (Mind) YER A WIZARD 'ARRY. You don't really need a description for this, srsly.
Flight || (mind) again this is pretty self explainatory. Danny's body from the waist down may sometimes turn into a tail, which allows for faster movement. His speed record is around 114 miles per hour.
Elastigirl || (mind) Danny can stretch, extend and twist various parts of his body to avoid attacks.
Ghost Ray || (mind) Danny's signature move, he creates a ball of glowing green ectoplasm that can either be shot at the enemy in a ray, or thrown at them. It can also be used as a flashlight.
Ghost Shield || (mind) Made of the same substance as a Ghost Ray, it basically just becomes a shield instead and--blocks stuff. Yep.
The Exorcism Overshadowing || (mind) Danny can take over other's bodies, human or ghost, for a short period of time.
DREAM DROPPU DISTANCU || (mind) An extension on Overshadowing, Danny can enter the dreams of others at will.
Ghostly Wail || (mind) Danny's most powerful attack, a sonic scream that hits multiple opponants for heavy damage. Because of the extent of power it uses, Danny often reverts back to human form after using the attack itself.
IceIce Baby Beam: || (ice) A skill that Danny wouldn't develop for several months yet, Danny shoots beams of ice from his hands. It is his only consistant elemental move.
Duplication: || (mind) Another ability Danny wouldn't develop just yet, Danny can create up to four duplicates of himself-- however the likelihood of this move failing is high.

The weirdest part of all of this...stuff, was not having anyone to protect anymore. Sure, he could summon Phantom and chase him around, but that was different to actually fighting. It didn't hold the same zest, the same pazzaz, the same... feelings as a fight for your life or for the town or even the safety of a few cardboard boxes. He almost missed the Box Ghost, which was just-
"Great, now I am going crazy." A halfhearted grumble. Danny ignored the various people around him who jumped in alarm, looking for where the voice was coming from. He didn't feel like dealing with others- unless they were Tucker and Sam. It'd be good to whine for a little while.
He was fourteen, after all. Whining was what he did best, aside from playing a Batman-esque vigilante.
"Definitely, if school's starting to sound good." He'd enjoyed his newfound freedom in deciding whether or not he had to go for a grand total of two days. Then everything got boring. Seriously boring. But going back to school meant Maths, and tripping over his own feet. Hiding his identity and just being...Danny Fenton. That kid who could barely keep his own pants up.
Not cool. Not cool at all.
He did have money for the moment, at least. And even if it wasn't nearly as satisfying, he could always go to the Arcade and play Mega Death Ultra 4-- for the fiftieth time since he'd gotten here.
Gee, and he'd always figured his life was boring.
